LexID® resolves identities by intelligently linking and matching records, fueled by billions of digital and physical data points. How LexID® Links Customer Records

Optimised matching through statistical linking techniques

We match common records and create clusters where records are linked by the same LexID®. When we acquire a new record, LexisNexis Risk Solutions assigns our own unique identifier, LexID®.

Records with intersecting data points are linked together by LexisNexis® Scalable Automated Linking Technology which is based on statistics, not rules and these techniques allow LexisNexis to link records with significantly greater accuracy, compared to other linking approaches.

By calculating a weight for each value of each field relative to all of the other values we find the specificity (or uniqueness) for that field in the data, using fuzzy matching and other capabilities to help find the best matches.

LexID® in Action

When fields match, a weighted score is assigned based on the specificity of the matched data. When fields don’t match, a penalty is applied. Finally, an overall score is calculated for the record. If the score passes a pre-determined threshold, the record can be linked to a LexID®.
